In this month’s July/August issue of Lift and Access magazine, Dave Robidoux was asked about the growing trend toward the increase use of the 12,000 lb. class of telehandlers over vertical-masted rough-terrain forklifts and small cranes..

“Typically, a 10,000-lb. capacity telehandler and a 12,000-lb. model have about the same footprint, and both weigh in the low 30,000-lb. range, with the 12k rig weighing about 2,4000 lbs. more,” he says. “So the 12,0000-lb. capacity telehander gives you an extra ton of close-in lifting capacity plus extra lifting height from virtually the same chassis.” (Lift and Access, July/August 2017).
